put on your red shoes and dance the blues

While I continue to work on my tectonik dance, I can’t help but realize that I would rather be dancin in the street with these two gentleman: david bowie and mick jagger. (Don’t worry I’m still doing my tectonik and have some videos that I will post soon)

Also, they really just don’t make music videos like they used to. Obviously I thoroughly enjoy the crazy dance moves of beyonce and britney spears, but honestly I miss the videos that were worth putting on shows like vh1’s “pop up video”.  Take Tom Petty’s “Don’t Come Around Here No More”:

So entertaining! Maybe just because I love Alice in Wonderland, but really you just don’t see videos like that anymore. All we see now is some pop star wearing a crazy sparkly outfit and sunglasses, gettin fresh with someone of the opposite sex and usually there is some fancy shmancy car that drives through a scene or two…if you’re lucky Mariah Carey might be washing the car in gold panties. No wonder TRL is over…all the music videos are the same. Ok…thats not entirely true, but for the most part I’d say that I have no interest in watching music videos like I used to. I remember watching TRL or MTV2 because they always had music videos (that I enjoyed watching) on. I suppose that Daft Punk has kept up with some weird and interesting music videos like “around the world”, but then again it came out in the 90’s:

I guess one can only dream that a new video like Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” will appear on TV again…until then, I’ll fulfill my nostalgia through youtube.

p.s. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
